Checkerboard Entertainment was such an asset to our event. Carl and Rob had so much energy
and enthusiasm throughout the whole 12 hours of Relay! I’ve never seen so many people engage
with the DJ at 3am. Carl and Rob had people at the stage dancing, they had people singing, they
kept the energy HIGH ALL NIGHT! In addition to being outstanding for the participants, they were a
pleasure to work with. They brought that same enthusiasm from the stage to the planning process.
We wouldn’t have had nearly as great an event without Carl and Rob! They really do bring the fun!
Thanks guys for all of your hard work and dedication to the fight against cancer.

Carl Ostenson was our D.J. for my son's 15th Birthday Celebration. It really was a celebration
because Carl was great.
Carl is without question, the best D.J. that I have ever hired, seen or even heard, We have all been
to weddings or parties where the D.J. plays the same type or music or same songs for that matter
over and over. Not Carl. Not only did he work with my son and I before the party to assure that he
knew what we liked and expected, he made suggestions and reminded us of forgotten favorites. If
he didn't have the music he had the ability to get it or was happy if we provided it as well.
He was professional, courteous and great with teens, before, during and after the party. He arrived
on time; quietly and quickly set up; started early and stayed later. His equipment included such
extras as lighting and video/dvd playing! You can play movies or show photos while the dancing
and music continues. If you are thinking about hiring a D.J. I strongly would suggest Carl. He is
FULL SERVICE!!!

It was a great experience working with Carl and Rob. They were professional, fun and energetic.
They worked well to accommodate the special needs of our students, as well as take various song
requests. I would definitely hire Checkerboard Entertainment for another event and look forward

My 18th birthday would not have been the same without the entertainment provided by Rob and
Carl. Not only did they keep the party bumping with great tunes, but also the meal a little something
special too with a fantastic (albeit hilariously embarassing for me) photo montage complete with
baby photos. They brought energetic fun. I mean they got "too cool to dance" teenagers up and
making fools of themselves on the dancefloor. Pretty impressive. They take requests, have great
playlists, or will take playlists of your own. They really cater to your needs and make sure that your
day, whatever the occasion may be, is truly your day. I highly recommend them! I cannot say
enough good things about them.
